It must be at least 10 years since I’ve vacationed in June, to my hometown in NY where I grew up. I always go in October, because I love the Fall and its obviously something we don’t see here in South Florida :) My only Niece graduated high school and I was thrilled to be there and be a part of her big day. So, we spent 10 days lounging around, playing with cousins, snuggling late at night & sleeping in late. We ate wild raspberries, saw Lightning BUGS (OMG so cool) made lots of “wishes” on fuzzy dandelions, played and laid in the REAL grass, played in the rain, climbed trees, and enjoyed a lot of time with family and friends.
The minute I step foot into this over 100 year old house, I’m taken back to my childhood immediately. Not much has changed inside or out, and I love that. It’s a really cool feeling to have MY kids there with me, where I grew up, making new memories for all of us! My parents moved into this house right after they were married almost 45 years ago. And now that my Father has passed..I enjoy reminiscing and appreciate this house & this town, so much more than I ever thought I could. Its a little slice of my past frozen in time. So thankful for the many great memories we made (and continue to make) in good old G-Town !
Here are “a few” of my favorites.
